Exeter Wellbeing Walk

Join the Exeter Wellbeing Walk – a free, friendly activity from Step One Charity designed to help you boost your mood, reduce anxiety, and connect with others in your community.

Our walk leaves from the X Centre and follows the beautiful River Exe along Exeter Quay, offering a chance to enjoy local wildlife and scenery. The route is approximately 3 miles, mostly flat and paved, making it accessible for all abilities. You can drop out into nearby amenities if needed, and there are toilet facilities and refreshment outlets along the way.

  • Who can join? Anyone in Devon aged 18 or over is welcome.
  • When? Fortnightly on Wednesdays. Meet at 10:45am, depart at 11am, and finish around 12:30pm.
  • Where? Starts and ends at the X Centre, Commercial Road, Exeter, EX2 4AD.
  • Difficulty: Easy – gentle pace, flat route, lowered curbs at crossings.
  • Cost: Free.

We walk at a gentle pace to ensure everyone feels comfortable and included. If you have any physical health conditions that could be affected by gentle to moderate walking, please check with your GP before joining. Please bring suitable footwear, clothing, and a completed ICE card for emergencies.

How to get there: The X Centre is accessible by car (Cathedral & Quay Car Park nearby), public transport, or a 15-20 minute walk from Exeter Central Station.
