Cooking and baking for adults with learning disabilities

We start at 9.30am, set up the room, then prepare ingredients for a dish that the group then cook for lunch. We set the table like in a restaurant, and we all sit and eat together and discuss what the group would like to prepare and cook the following week. Once lunch is finished, everyone helps to wash and dry up, clean tables and hoover, ready for the afternoon session.

The afternoon session is a pudding/cake or biscuits which are prepared and baked by the group for the individuals to take and share with who is at home. We finish at 3.00pm

We aim to cook or bake any dish the group choose to make, however, we look at the ingredients and try to substitute for healthier alternatives and healthier cooking options, where possible.
