The Short Term Alcohol Reduction Service (STARS) is a 1-1 based alcohol reduction program; a new personalised protective measure to mitigate alcohol dependency, and alleviate any potential health risks caused by high levels of drinking (more than 14 units per week). Service users can expect 5 sessions including an assessment, and will be guided through a mixture of education support and behaviour change tools, giving them the confidence to gain control of their drinking and maintain this on a long term basis.
Service users will need to be referred via a health professional; the criteria for this service is aged 18+, living within/ registered to a GP within the Cambridgeshire area, are non-dependant on drinking, and motivated to make changes.
