Social Prescribing
Social Prescribers work closely with GPs to assist patients with their non-medical needs. The Malvern Social Prescribing team is based at South Worcestershire Citizens Advice. We offer free, friendly support to help you talk about what's going on in your life and what matters to you. Together, we can make sense of what's going on, explore options and find practical next steps. We can also connect you with local advice, support, groups and activities that may help you feel happier and healthier.
People often come to us for support with things like:
- Feeling stressed, low or overwhelmed
- Loneliness, or wanting to meet new people
- Finding hobbies, groups or activities locally
- Improving wellbeing or becoming more active
- Support with practical worries like money, work or housing
Many people find it helpful to talk things through with someone outside their usual circle. A Social Prescriber will:
- Take time to listen to what's going on in your life
- Help you untangle challenges and identify priorities
- Support you to work out practical next steps
- Connect you with local advice, services, groups and activities
Our approach is to work alongside you, helping you build confidence and find solutions that work for you. We won't rush you, and support is usually available for up to around 6 months if needed.
Professional and self referrals welcome. The service works best for people who are open to engaging in a conversation about their wellbeing and exploring options.
