Mental Health Support Through Coaching and Mentoring

Strive to be CIC is dedicated to providing inclusive activities and opportunities for young people and adults in the community. Our mission is to help individuals build confidence, improve health, develop social skills, and enhance physical development through a range of engaging programmes.

We work collaboratively with partners, providers, and clinical experts to create the best experiences and aspirations for our participants.

Mental Health Support Through Coaching and Mentoring
At Strive to be CIC, we believe that improving mental health begins with empowerment, self-understanding, and achievable progress. Our coaching and mentoring programme provides tailored support for young people and adults who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about their next steps in life.

Our trained mentors work with individuals to help them find direction, balance, and purpose, supporting each person to take control of their own growth and well-being. Whether someone is struggling with low motivation, anxiety, confidence, or life transitions, we create a safe, supportive space where they can build resilience and develop positive coping strategies.

How We Support Individuals
We use the proven GROW model as the foundation for our mentoring and coaching sessions. This simple but effective approach encourages self-reflection and realistic progress:

G – Goals: We begin by identifying meaningful short-, medium-, and long-term goals that align with the individual’s aspirations and values.
R – Reality: Together, we explore current challenges, barriers, and strengths to gain a clear understanding of where the person is right now.
O – Options: We discuss practical options and creative solutions that move the individual closer to their goals.
W – Will: Finally, we agree on small, achievable steps and build the motivation to take action and follow through.

What Our Mentoring Involves
Each participant receives regular one-to-one sessions (typically one hour per week or more, depending on need). These sessions are delivered in a supportive and non-judgemental environment, either in person or online.

Our mentors:

Help participants set realistic and achievable goals for the week ahead.
Support individuals in developing positive routines, habits, and coping mechanisms.
Offer encouragement, accountability, and practical tools for self-improvement.
Focus on emotional well-being, confidence building, and personal empowerment.
Encourage reflection on progress and celebrate every success — no matter how small.
Our approach is person-centred, meaning that every mentoring journey is unique and led by the individual’s needs, pace, and goals.

Collaborative and Holistic Support

When appropriate, we also signpost individuals to additional resources such as counselling, training, or community wellbeing programmes.

Our coaching is not therapy — it’s about helping people move forward with clarity, confidence, and motivation. By setting realistic goals and celebrating progress, we empower individuals to take control of their journey toward better mental health and well-being.
