REMIT is a community-based education programme in Leicester for adults aged 19+ who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
This programme offers a range of courses designed to help learners develop interpersonal, functional, practical, and physical skills. Participants gain knowledge, understanding, and a sense of engagement and belonging, with a strong focus on promoting wellbeing and self-confidence through participation and achievement.
Courses are delivered at Leicester Adult Education College and various community venues, providing accessible learning opportunities. REMIT is closely linked to mainstream adult education provision, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Courses typically run in the morning (10:00 - 12:00) or afternoon (13:00 - 15:00).
- Subjects include creative writing, art, singing, ICT, psychology, and more.
- Supportive staff and a friendly atmosphere help learners feel welcome and motivated.
