DLR Ambassadors are here to help anyone who uses the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Our community ambassadors speak a variety of languages, including Bengali, Yoruba, Urhobo, Hindi, Urdu, and Sylheti, making it easier for everyone to access support and information.
What we offer:
- Careers talks for students at schools and local colleges
- Information on how to use the DLR safely
- Open days at supermarkets, libraries, and community centres to liaise with local communities
- Accessibility trips and ticket machine training for residents who need extra assistance, including group accompaniment from a start to an end station
- Mobility scooter training to help users travel safely on the railway
- Facilitation of the Back on Track scheme to restore passenger confidence
- Safety talks to demonstrate the importance of railway safety
- Management of the Adopt a Station programme with local stakeholders
- Attendance at community events such as coffee mornings, parent-and-toddler groups, and parents' forums to provide travel advice and answer questions
- Feedback to DLR on community concerns
- Face-to-face engagement at unstaffed DLR stations
Drop-in sessions: Ambassadors offer information and advice about travelling on the DLR, engineering works, and accessibility trips. Email ambassadors@keolisameydlr.co.uk to book a drop-in session at your local library or community centre.
Our ambassadors are dedicated to making your journey on the DLR safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable. Whether you need travel advice, accessibility support, or just someone to answer your questions, we're here to help.
