The National Diabetes Prevention Programme is a nine-month-long behavioural change programme. Throughout the 14 1.5 hour-long sessions participants receive education on nutrition, exercise, physical activity, the physiology of Type 2 Diabetes, stress, sleep, helpful/unhelpful thought patterns and more. They are supported along the way by their coach to make achievable but meaningful goals which will help them to improve their health and reduce their risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
If you would like to take part and know you are eligible you can self-refer to the National Diabetes Prevention Programme Devon at https://preventing-diabetes.co.uk/referral/ or you can ask your GP practice to refer you.
