Shed Life Drop-in - Wednesday 10am-12pm

Shed Life is a resident-led project and a friendship network, that look out for each other. Started by local residents on the Thames View Estate, Barking, who have co-designed a shed with University of East London Architecture students. It is a safe space to learn and share skills, to build individual confidence and self-advocacy, to contribute to local conversations and to have your voice heard. Our core value is that ‘We all make Shed Life Together’ and everyone is responsible for making sure that all members have what they need to participate.

The drop-in is a regular social, held in the adjacent Thames Community Hub main hall, a fun morning with music, dancing, arts and crafts and quizzes. This is where we develop and strengthen our shared values, we carry out informal training through fun interactive quizzes. This creates the safe shared space and new members are welcomed and quickly get on-board. We create space with gravitational-pull, that people want to come back to each week, creating natural community iteration.
