HCYC Young Carers Group

HCYC Young Carers Group supports young people aged 11-18 in the Harborough District who care for someone at home. We understand that being a young carer can bring both positive experiences—like increased resilience, empathy, and maturity—and challenges such as stress, isolation, emotional strain, and lower school attendance.

Our group is here to help counter the negative impacts while celebrating the positives. We offer a safe, welcoming space for young carers to:

  • Have fun and try new activities
  • Learn something new
  • Meet other young people in similar situations
  • Relax and enjoy time together

Our well-trained staff provide support throughout, and transport may be available to help you attend if needed.

If you are a young carer under 11, we can signpost you to other support—please get in touch.

Attendance is by referral only. To enquire about joining, please contact us using the details below.
