The Havering Health Visiting service provides public health support to children, young people, and their families, focusing on early intervention, prevention, and promoting physical and social wellbeing.
Our team works with local communities, families, and individual children in a variety of settings, including homes, children's centres, schools, and GP surgeries. We collaborate closely with other health and non-health services to ensure every child and young person lives in a safe and healthy environment.
We support families from antenatal visits until your child starts school, offering:
- Breastfeeding, weaning, and healthy eating advice
- Bonding and attachment support
- Parenting skills guidance
- Childhood immunisation programme information
- Development reviews to help your child reach their full potential
- Support for postnatal depression
- Advice on domestic and child abuse
- Help with medical issues affecting your child or family
- Support for children with additional needs, such as speech and language difficulties
We work in partnership with local children and family centres to give every child in Havering the best start in life.
How to access our service: Referrals can be made via our Single Point of Access (SPA) by calling 0300 300 1635 or emailing havering0-19SPA@nelft.nhs.uk.
