The Havering School Nursing Service supports children and young people aged 5 to 19 across Havering, working in partnership with families, schools, and the community to help every child achieve their best possible health and wellbeing.
Our dedicated team includes administrators, support workers, community staff nurses, and specialist community public health nurses. We work from health centres within the borough and collaborate closely with allocated schools, providing a vital link between school, home, and the wider community.
We offer support on a wide range of topics, including:
- Healthy lifestyles, including advice on stopping smoking and obesity
- Social education and citizenship
- Developmental screening
- Support and signposting for medical needs such as asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy
- Early intervention for children and young people needing emotional support
Our service also includes a specialist EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) nurse, who supports children and young people not attending mainstream school, including those in alternative education, home education, or missing from education. We work closely with the Child Missing from Education (CME) team to help children re-engage with education.
We welcome referrals and enquiries from families, schools, and professionals. If you need support, please contact your school nurse via the Duty Desk.
