Age UK Hertfordshire offers a wide range of services and support for older people across Hertfordshire, helping you or your loved ones to stay independent, active, and connected in later life.
Our services include:
- Befriending Service: Friendly visits and telephone calls to reduce loneliness and provide companionship.
- Help in the Home: Cleaning, shopping, and domestic support to help you remain independent at home.
- Lunch Clubs & Social Activities: Opportunities to meet others, enjoy a meal, and take part in group activities.
- Information & Advice: Free, quality-assured support on benefits, housing, Lasting Power of Attorney, and more.
- Gardening & Handyperson Services: Help with garden maintenance and small household tasks.
- Memory Support: Support for people living with dementia, including cognitive stimulation therapy and advice for carers.
- Nutrition & Dietetics: Guidance to help maintain a healthy diet in later life.
- Digital Inclusion: Support to help you get online and use technology confidently.
We also offer specialist services such as Carers' Support, Hospital & Community Navigation (help after a hospital stay), and more. Our team is committed to making information accessible, including braille, audio, and easy-read formats.
Most services are free or low-cost. For example, Help in the Home is a paid service (£12.88 per hour plus paid holiday pay), while advice and befriending are free.
