Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland's Dementia Support Service offers compassionate, personalised support for people living with dementia and their carers across Leicester and Leicestershire.
What we offer:
- Personalised One-to-One Support: Tailored information and advice to help you and your loved ones throughout your dementia journey. Support is available face-to-face in your home, at Dementia Support Clinics, over the phone, or online.
- Emotional Support: Short-term emotional support to help you cope and thrive.
- Access to Services: Guidance to help you connect with other health, social care, and community services.
- Post Diagnostic Information Sessions: Weekly online and face-to-face sessions to help you understand dementia, learn strategies to manage symptoms, plan ahead, and discover local services.
- Memory Cafes & Social Groups: Join Memory Cafes, peer groups, and activities such as walking, gardening, and trips out to stay active and connected.
- Informal Carer Learning: Families and informal carers can access learning sessions to gain knowledge and skills for supporting someone with dementia. Topics include understanding dementia, strategies for support, managing money, planning for the future, and self-care. Ad hoc sessions cover First Aid, Mindfulness, and Moving & Handling.

You are a family member or carer of someone living with dementia.
You are a person living with dementia who is registered with a general medical practice within Leicester City or Leicestershire
You are family member or informal carer of a person with dementia. (Please note that you do not have to be a resident in Leicester or Leicester City)
