We are a local charity that provides life-changing advice at the heart of our communities across Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash and High Peak. Our advice is free, confidential, independent and impartial.

We offer a range of free advice services at our offices, outreach locations, over the phone and via webchat. Whether face-to-face, over the phone or online, a trained adviser will help you find a way forward, whatever the problem.

-Money Advice - Our experienced team of money advisers can assist with:

Court forms
Council tax arrears
Rent arrears
Mortgage problems
Energy arrears
Non-priority debts including credit card, catalogue/buy now pay later, telephone bill and many more
Debt solutions including bankruptcy, DRO, debt management plan and many more

-Help to Claim Universal Credit


-Pension Wise - Free and impartial guidance about your defined contribution pension options.


-Consumer Service - If you are unhappy with a service or product you have purchased, the Citizens Advice consumer service can tell you what your rights are and offer impartial advice.


-Energy Advice- Our trained advisers can advise on; energy switching to save money, applications for warm home discount and other grants, signing up to priority service registers, money saving tips, reducing your water bill and a variety of other things designed to save you money.


- Money Sorted in D2N2 - support and personally tailored interventions for people experiencing the greatest financial difficulty. It will enable you to take control, build confidence and skills and help tackle barriers and problems in order to improve your financial wellbeing. You need to be of working age and either unemployed or not in paid work at the time of starting. 

-Older People’s Champion - Our adviser can help with a variety of issues that affect older people including:
Attendance Allowance forms
Carer’s Allowance forms
Scams
Energy and heating homes
Lasting power of attorney


-Access for people who are deaf or have hearing loss


-Webchat for advice on Money or Debt, Universal Credit, Consumer Service and anything else.


-Hate Crime - We are a registered reporting centre for hate crime. Our staff can provide advice to those who have been subjected to a hate crime or hate incident and tell you where you can get more information and support.
