Penhaligon’s Friends is a dedicated charity offering specialist support, information, and guidance to children, young people, and their families in Cornwall who have experienced the death of someone close to them.
Our team provides a warm, understanding environment where families can find help navigating grief and loss. We offer:
- Advice and resources for parents, carers, and professionals on talking to children about death, coping with sudden loss, and supporting children through terminal diagnoses.
- Direct support for children and young people, including urgent help for those bereaved by suicide and additional support tailored to individual needs.
- Support for schools and professionals, including training days and referral pathways to help staff respond compassionately to bereaved students.
- Volunteer opportunities and training for those wishing to help bereaved families in Cornwall.
- Community events and family fun days to bring people together and celebrate resilience.
We are committed to changing bereaved children’s lives by providing practical help, emotional support, and a safe space to talk. Our services are free of charge and available to families across Cornwall.
If you need support, want to refer a child or family, or are interested in volunteering or training, please get in touch with our friendly team. We are here to help.
