Social Inclusion

The Social Inclusion project has been running in Havering now for several years and it has recently moved over to Barking & Dagenham. This project is for people experiencing mental health problems with the associated isolation it can bring. We look at things that can negatively impact our mental health. We also give clients an opportunity to learn to connect with other people, their local community and nature. We will show clients how much is going on in their local community and we support them to get involved. The programme consists of 10 weekly sessions in a group setting. It is for anyone over the age of 18 that is a resident in Barking & Dagenham.

The topics we cover are:

1.            Introduction

2.            Mindfulness

3.            Self-compassion

4.            Connecting with others

5.            My Health and Me

6.            Finding Solutions

7.            Mood and Food

8.            Moving forwards (creating a plan)

9.            Community week (where we go out into community)

10.          Marking achievements / ending session
