Electric Umbrella is a vibrant charity that uses the power of music to unite people and create a more inclusive society. For over 12 years, we have celebrated difference and inspired community connection through workshops, performances, and creative activities—both online and in-person.
We empower learning disabled and neurodivergent people of all abilities, fostering confidence, skills, and leadership potential. Our community welcomes everyone: members, families, friends, and supporters. Whether you want to perform, connect, or simply have fun, there’s a place for you at Electric Umbrella.
- Free Activities: Join regular online sessions such as EUTV (interactive music show), Singalong (Friday feel-good sessions), and Open Mic (monthly opportunities to perform). These are open to all, with a simple sign-up process.
- Premium Sessions: In-person and online workshops like Crew Days, Big Yellow Choir, and Feel and Face the Music offer immersive experiences to develop musical abilities, confidence, and leadership skills. Taster sessions are available free of charge, and financial support is offered for those who need it.
- School Programmes: We deliver inclusive music experiences to mainstream and SEND schools nationwide, including workshops, performances, and collaborative projects. Our upcoming Electric Umbrella Academy will provide free online resources, lesson plans, and accreditation for schools.
- Live Events: Participate in or attend show-stopping performances, gigs, and festivals across the UK. Our events are designed to be accessible and welcoming to all.
How to Join: Create a free account to access activities, or contact us to arrange a taster session. Our sessions run most of the year, with breaks at Christmas, UK Bank Holidays, and staff training weeks.
Access and Inclusion: Our activities are designed for people of all abilities. You don’t need to sing or play an instrument—just bring your enthusiasm! We strive to make our events accessible, and carers accompanying performers do not need a ticket.
Support Us: You can help by donating, volunteering, fundraising, or partnering with us. Every contribution helps us empower more people through music.
Contact: For questions, support, or to get involved, reach out via email or phone. We look forward to welcoming you to our community!
