Our expert team can help you with:

  • Pregnancy and maternity rights
  • Discrimination as a parent or carer
  • Adoption, paternity, and shared parental leave
  • Flexible working and changes to your employment terms
  • Emergency, parental, and bereavement leave
  • In-work benefits and universal credit
  • Free childcare and help with childcare costs
  • Employment tribunals and bringing a claim
  • Support for parents and carers of dependants with a disability

How to access advice:

  • Check our advice pages for answers to common questions.
  • If you need further help, fill out our online contact form or call our telephone helpline (0300 012 0312) open weekdays 11am–2pm.

We aim to respond to all queries within 10 working days, and often sooner for urgent cases. Every query receives a reply. If you haven't heard from us, please check your spam or junk folder.

Eligibility: Our service is available to parents, expectant parents, carers, and their advisers or professionals (such as midwives or social workers). We are only able to advise workers or employees, not employers, to avoid conflicts of interest.

Confidentiality: All advice is confidential and your personal data is protected in accordance with GDPR. Please see our privacy policy for details.

Cost: This service is completely free for eligible users.

For employment or benefit issues not related to family or caring, please contact your local Citizens Advice.
