The Coalition Surrey Coalition of Disabled People

Surrey Coalition of Disabled People is a user-led organisation run by and for disabled people in and around Surrey. Our mission is to campaign for the rights of disabled people, promote equality of opportunity, and support independent living.

We offer a wide range of services and activities designed to reduce barriers and help disabled people live full, equal lives in their communities. Our work focuses on six key areas:

  • Getting Involved: Specialist interest groups meet regularly with health, social care, and community partners to co-produce services and provide feedback on issues affecting disabled people.
  • Technology: Access to technology and advice. If you need help using your device or getting online, our Technology team is here to support you.
  • Mental Health: A network for people with lived experience of mental ill-health and carers, working together with NHS and social care providers to improve mental health care in Surrey and North East Hampshire.
  • Physical Activity: Advice and support to help you get active, including one-to-one appointments with our physical activity expert, monthly meet-ups, and signposting to local activities.
  • Campaigning and Influencing: Opportunities to highlight concerns and influence change for disabled people.
  • Keeping You Connected: A range of social events such as book club, glee club, virtual cafĂ©, virtual trips, and craft club, plus updates on local community activities.

Upcoming events include weekly virtual quizzes and discussion groups, providing opportunities for social connection and peer support.

Membership is free and open to all disabled people in Surrey. We welcome new members and volunteers—join us to help shape services and make your voice heard!
