Thames Valley Positive Support (TVPS)

We aim to break down barriers, promote understanding, and inspire hope, ensuring that every person affected by HIV feels valued, respected, and empowered to live fully and freely.

Advice & Advocacy
We all encounter times when a bit of extra support can make a difference. Whether you’re looking for guidance on sharing your HIV status with friends, family, or your employer, assistance with accessing benefits, addressing housing concerns, attending medical appointments, or advocating for your rights, we’re here to help. If challenges become particularly overwhelming, we can also provide access to food bank vouchers.

One to One Support
Our dedicated support team is here to ensure you receive exceptional care and guidance as you navigate your diagnosis. We understand that discussing HIV can be challenging, and we may be among the first people you confide in. We recognise that everyone’s journey is unique, so we're here to listen and connect you with the support that best fits your needs, no matter your circumstances.

Safe Space
Our safe space welcomes anyone in Berkshire and North Hampshire affected by HIV. Join us for a relaxed, friendly gathering where you can connect with others living with HIV, share experiences, and make new friends. You’ll also have the opportunity to speak with our support team about any questions or concerns. Food and free WiFi are provided to make your time with us comfortable and enjoyable.

Counselling
We’re pleased to offer a range of free counselling services with BACP-registered counselors, supporting individuals facing challenges related to HIV. Counselling is tailored to help individuals adjust to their diagnosis or navigate the beginning stages of medication. And for those whose circumstances impact their ability to manage their condition effectively, providing sustained support to build resilience and stability.

Our services are designed to meet people wherever they are on their journey, offering compassionate support every step of the way.

Training
Our training covers information on HIV basics, prevention, treatment, and stigma reduction, while being adaptable to various levels of knowledge and professional backgrounds. Whether you're a healthcare provider, educator, or community leader, our tailored approach equips you with the tools to make a meaningful impact in HIV awareness and response.

We offer flexible HIV training solutions by tailoring both the length and format to suit your needs. Whether you prefer in-person sessions, pre-recorded modules for self-paced learning, bite-sized content for quick understanding, or virtual meetings for interactive discussions, we can adapt the training to your schedule and preferences.

Since 1985, the dedicated team at Thames Valley Positive Support (TVPS) has been committed to making a meaningful impact to the lives of people living with HIV across Berkshire and North Hampshire.
