Dementia Buddies is a volunteer-led befriending service designed to make a positive difference for people living with dementia and their carers in the local community.
Our carefully selected volunteers have a strong understanding of dementia and are trained to engage in a kind, respectful, and empathetic way. Each Dementia Buddy receives full training, ongoing support, and an enhanced DBS check, ensuring a safe and trustworthy service for you and your family.
How it works:
- Volunteers provide companionship and emotional support, tailored to your needs.
- You and your family can agree with your Buddy on the type of support you want.
- All Buddies are supported to deliver their role effectively and safely.
Who can access: Anyone living with dementia or caring for someone with dementia in the local area.
