Retrain the Pain group

The chronic pain group activities encompass a comprehensive approach to improving the health and well-being of participants. The group focuses on providing education about pain neuroscience and management strategies to empower individuals with knowledge about their condition. Variety of movement snacks are shown to promote mobility and reduce stiffness, that contribute to improved physical function of attendants.

A mind and body approach are utilised, combining psychological techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and cognitive-behavioural strategies to address the interplay between mental and physical aspects of pain. Neurodynamic exercises target the nervous system to reduce nerve-related pain and improve neural mobility. Additionally, a holistic approach is embraced, considering the whole person and addressing emotional, social, and environmental factors influencing pain.

By engaging in these varied activities within the chronic pain group, participants can experience enhanced overall health and well-being, including reduced pain levels, improved functional abilities, increased resilience, and a greater sense of empowerment over their pain management journey.
