Luton SENDIAS offers free, confidential, and impartial information, advice, and support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as well as their parents and carers.
This statutory service is funded by Luton Council and Luton Clinical Commissioning Group, and operates independently from the Local Authority to ensure unbiased support.
What we offer:
- Guidance on SEN support in education, EHC Needs Assessment requests, and EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
- Support for parents, carers, children, and young people, including help with emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), annual reviews, attendance, and transitions.
- Information on local support groups, events, and workshops, such as youth clubs and careers events for students with SEND.
- Resources and advice for professionals working with children and young people with SEND.
How to access: The service is available to anyone in Luton who needs support or advice regarding SEND. You can contact us by phone, email, or via our online enquiry form. Our team is available Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, with a 24-hour answerphone service.
