Community Activities

Age Concern North Devon offers a welcoming and varied monthly activity programme for older people across Barnstaple and North Devon. Our activities are designed to help you connect with others, enjoy good company, and stay active in a friendly, supportive environment.

• Lunch Clubs: Share a meal and conversation at venues including Petroc College, The Catch, and The Coaching Inn. Booking is essential for lunch clubs.
• Community Singing: Sing old favourites, enjoy refreshments, and chat with others at Barnstaple Baptist Church. No booking required.
• Seated Exercise: Improve your balance and mobility with gentle exercise sessions, followed by refreshments and friendly conversation. No booking required.
• Pop-In Mornings: Drop in for refreshments and companionship at Barnstaple Baptist Church or The Lantern in Ilfracombe. Transport is available for Barnstaple sessions.
• Afternoon Club: Enjoy bingo, seasonal crafts, and refreshments every Monday (except Bank Holidays) at Barnstaple Baptist Church.
• Library Club: Broaden your horizons with interesting speakers, a raffle, and refreshments at Barnstaple Library.
• Elder Day: Supported shopping and social day in Barnstaple on the first Wednesday of each month.

Activity costs vary from £2 – £15. Please contact us to discuss your needs, including any additional support or if you are a carer seeking respite for the person you care for.

All activities are friendly, inclusive, and designed to help you feel part of your community.
