Tean Valley Meadow Nature Reserve

Tean Valley Meadow Nature Reserve is an 11-acre nature reserve, 1 mile north of Uttoxeter. The reserve was originally a private project which began in 2002 but is now managed by a charitable trust, what started as an empty, unimproved field, is now an oasis for nature, with over 3000 trees planted, a number of pond and wetland habitats created, a wildflower meadow maintained and much, much more.

Visiting the Reserve

The reserve is open weekly on Sundays and Mondays. There is no entry fee however we rely on donations to maintain and improve the reserve.

  • Explore the reserve and the various habitats and spaces we have to offer
  • Walk our Butterfly Art Trail, a 1-mile route around the reserve with over 15 butterfly sculptures to spot
  • Watch the local wildlife from one of our hides
  • Relax on one of our benches and picnic tables around the reserve

The reserve welcomes assistance dogs, however we cannot otherwise allow dogs onto the reserve. For more information about visiting the reserve, please see our website.

Please get in touch before visiting to avoid disappointment!

Craft Courses and Events

We run a series of craft courses in our woodland shelter workshop, which are suitable for all ages and experience levels. Please get in touch with us to find out more.

Volunteer with Us

We rely on volunteers to maintain and improve the reserve, run our events and courses, guide visits around the reserve, help with fundraising and administration, and much more. If you're at all interested in coming to help out, whether you can help out weekly or on a more irregular basis, please get in touch!
