The Real Junk Food Project Twickenham is an award-winning, pay-as-you-feel surplus café serving the communities of East Twickenham, Richmond, Ham, Hampton Hill, and Hampton.
We rescue surplus food that would otherwise go to landfill and transform it into delicious, nutritious meals for everyone. Our mission is to promote sustainability, reduce food waste, and support local people by making good food accessible to all.
- Everyone is welcome – there are no eligibility criteria or referrals needed.
- Pay-as-you-feel – you choose what to pay, making our café accessible regardless of income.
- Community impact – since 2018, we've diverted over 341 tonnes of food from landfill and served more than 122,000 meals.
- Volunteer-powered – our café is run by a dedicated team, averaging over 1,000 volunteer hours per month.
