Dementia & Me Coordinator

Dementia and Me Support from Age UK Thanet offers a range of community-based services designed to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia and their carers.

What we offer:

• Weekly 1-to-1 home visits: Our dedicated dementia organiser provides personalised support, including cognitive and physical therapies, music, art, reminiscence, games, conversation, and stimulating activities. Each visit is tailored to the individual's needs and preferences.
• Respite for carers: Six-weekly sessions allow caregivers to take a break, meet others with similar experiences, and enjoy social time. Activities for those living with dementia include seated exercises, singing, board games, and a light lunch.
• Dementia Cafés: Drop-in sessions for anyone seeking support, information, or advice about dementia. These informal gatherings offer access to health and social care professionals, voluntary organisations, and opportunities to share experiences and make new friends. No booking or referral is required.
• Young Onset Dementia Drop-In Café: Free, fortnightly sessions for advice, sharing experiences, making friends, and cognitive activities.

• Age UK Thanet Hub, Zion Place, Margate, Kent CT9 1RP

Cost: £30.00 per session for 1-to-1 home visits. Dementia Cafés and drop-in sessions are free.
