Home-Start Medway offers free, confidential, and compassionate support to parents and carers of children under 5 living in Medway.
If you are going through a difficult time—whether feeling isolated, coping with post-natal depression, managing your own or your child’s illness or disability, grieving a loss, or struggling with the demands of young children—our service is here for you.
What we offer:
- Regular visits (2-3 hours per week) from a carefully selected and trained volunteer with parenting experience
- Emotional and practical support tailored to your needs
- A listening ear and adult company
- Help with playing and engaging with your children
- Reassurance, encouragement, and motivation
- Support to access other local amenities and services
- Flexible, responsive help based on what you agree would be most useful
Our volunteers visit you in your own home, providing a safe and supportive environment. We aim to reduce isolation, boost confidence, and help you navigate challenges so you and your children can thrive.
How to access support:
- You can self-refer, or be referred by a friend, family member, or professional (such as a Health Visitor, Midwife, Children’s Centre, or School Support Worker).
- Once we receive your referral, we will contact you to arrange a visit and discuss your needs.
- Our service is independent, confidential, and always provided at your request.
Eligibility:
- Live in Medway
- Have one or more children under the age of 5
