Equine facilitated therapy is the unique experience that encompasses the known psychological and emotional benefits of working in partnership with horses.
During sessions you don't ride the horse, but work alongside them tackling tasks or overcoming obstacles. The immediate feedback the horse gives on your behaviour is an honest, non-judgemental interpretation increasing your self awareness.
This can develop new ways of thinking, catalyse the change of negative behaviours and coping mechanisms.
Horses live in the moment giving them the ability to see the individual behind the coping strategy, recognising and validating the lived experience. This creates a trusting bond that teaches co-regulation and facilitates change.
