Veterans In Communities

Veterans In Communities (VIC) offers a wide range of projects and activities for ex-Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and Emergency Services personnel, as well as those connected to the Armed Forces community.

Our VIC Centre in Haslingden is the hub for:

  • Outdoor activities such as walks, allotment projects in Helmshore, and community-based initiatives.
  • Social Inclusion trips and opportunities to connect with others.
  • Centre-based activities including Art Group, Crafty Chatters, Model Railway Club, Pyrography, and a recreational room with a book and video library.
  • Veterans In Production (VIP) – a workshop where members manufacture garden and outdoor furniture.
  • Developing Veterans Photography – creative and skills-based sessions.
  • VIC Choir – a singing group for veterans.

Our projects are designed and delivered by VIC members, many of whom bring valuable skills and experience from their service. These activities help members showcase their talents, gain new qualifications, and contribute to the local community through projects like garden maintenance, rebuilding remembrance gardens, and supporting Operation War Graves.

Who can join? Anyone who has served in the Armed Forces or Emergency Services, or has an association with the Armed Forces community.
