Untapped Art Therapy is a charity dedicated to providing Art Psychotherapy to vulnerable children and young people in the Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP Council) area.
Our mission is to reduce mental health crises and increase access to quality mental health support for young people. We specialise in supporting those who are neurodivergent and those who have experienced trauma, including childhood trauma, bereavement, anxiety, depression, addiction, and other mental health diagnoses.
Art Therapy is a unique form of psychotherapy that uses creative art-making as a way to explore feelings, develop self-awareness, and build coping skills. It is especially helpful for young people who may find it difficult to express themselves verbally. Our professional art therapists guide clients through the process, helping them to:
- Express thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental environment
- Develop greater self-esteem and creativity
- Cope with stress, trauma, and loss
- Improve mental wellbeing and resilience
We offer individual Art Psychotherapy, Art Therapy Groups, and Trauma Therapy (CATT). Our services are proven to be effective for a wide range of needs, including learning and physical disabilities, neurological conditions, and physical illnesses.
