This service is provided for families who are supporting young children.
It serves as a support group for families during early pregnancy and for children up to age 5 in a safe, confidential environment. We strive to keep the sessions interactive and insightful. The discussions focus on children's emotional well-being and the importance of infant feeding. whatever stage of the feeding journey you are at and your feeding choice, including breastfeeding (pumping, combi, post journey for reflection or thinking about it during pregnancy)and formula feeding.
We follow a programme of sessions to take you on your own reflective journey in thinking about your infant's feeding choices. each session's discussion will be led by a community psychiatric nurse and mother of three. If you need more help with your infant feeding journey, we are able to signpost and/or refer you to specialist services. The aim of these group sessions is to support you through your emotional wellbeing during your infant feeding journey
-This service is directed at mothers of black and minority ethnic groups, to decrease the disparity women not of the majority have when it comes to early support for infants.
-Mothers who are currently pregnant to mothers who have children just beginning to enrol in primary school at five years old.
-both professional and self-referrals are encouraged.
