Yoga

Empowering you to gently cleanse, restore and bring balance to your mind and body naturally.

Today, most people have heard of yoga and its benefits.  It is one of the few ancient spiritual traditions that has maintained itself against the test of time.  Fig Tree Yoga classes offer the chance for you to get back in touch with your body, to make some time for yourself and find some calm and stillness without judgement or expectation of how you should look, move or be.   Yoga is a practice – there is no destination, no competition.  Just practice.

Give it a try! Come join our warm and friendly class...

When is it?

Thursday evenings

What time?

6.30pm – 7.30pm

Where?

St. Justus Hall, Fairway, Rochester, ME1 2LT

How often are the classes?

We usually work in 6 week blocks with sometimes a week off for half term or holidays – often however, we carry through.  Come for all six or just drop in!

What type of yoga?

This particular class is a Slow Flow Vinyasa

What does this entail?

It is a fluid, rhythmic and mindful Vinyasa flow style of yoga carefully linking movement and breath to encourage muscle strengthening, blood circulation and cellular restoration throughout the body.  These sessions can be meditative and gently empowering for students of all ages and abilities as they get to know, love and care for their mind and body both inside and out.

Who’s it suitable for?

Everyone – beginners are always very welcome.  You just practice to how you feel on the day - every body is different, every day is different and every season too.  We have even had some come and stay still in savasana (relaxation) for the entire class.  It is your practice.  There is no judgement.

Do I need any kit?

Nope! We have mats and blocks if you need to borrow them, just bring yourself, an open heart and something warm and cosy for the relaxation period at the beginning and at the end of the class.
