The Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Project (EMHIP) is dedicated to reducing ethnic inequalities in access, experience, and outcomes of mental health care for Black Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in South West London.
EMHIP is a collaborative, locality-based service improvement programme, working closely with the South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust, South West London Clinical Commissioning Group (Merton & Wandsworth Locality), and networks of BME voluntary, faith, and community groups, convened by the Wandsworth Community Empowerment Network (WCEN).
Our aims:
- Reduce disparities in mental health care for BME communities.
- Improve access, experience, and outcomes for those facing ethnic inequalities.
- Work in partnership with local communities and organisations to drive meaningful change.

-To access this service, you must be 18 or older. We welcome people no matter how far they are in their wellbeing journey. As with all of our EMHIP services, this activity is targeted at Ethnic minorities of the BME community.
-This activity is a drop-in service designed for your convenience. You do not need to book a slot, making it easy for you to access our services.
-Access to the Talking Therapies workshop discussions is open to everyone, but the Talking Therapies Wellbeing officers will need to assess further referrals to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
