Volunteering.

RIVER Treatment & Recovery Service is always looking for Volunteers and Peer Mentors with passion and drive to support others during their treatment & recovery journey from drug and alcohol misuse.

Our vision for Medway is to create an inclusive space were the people we support can positively and proactively move forward in their journey.

What qualities are we looking for in a volunteer?

It is essential for potential volunteers to be open minded, sincere and non-judgemental as RIVER Treatment & Recovery Service work with a diverse range of individuals. Specific qualifications or skills are not required as you will receive all the training you need when you join us.

Personal experience of substance misuse can often be an asset as the challenges faced living with substance misuse become beneficial learning tools in understanding the experiences people in recovery may encounter.

So, whether you have experience of your own challenges, someone else’s substance misuse, or none at all, you can still help provide the vital support that people in recovery need.

We’ll make sure your volunteering role is a fun, challenging, rewarding and supported experience.
