The Cambridge Branch of Parkinson’s UK offers a welcoming and supportive community for people living with Parkinson’s, their carers, families, and friends in the Cambridge area.
We provide information, support, and advice locally, helping ensure that no one has to face Parkinson’s alone. Our branch covers a wide area around Cambridge and is dedicated to fulfilling the aims of Parkinson’s UK at a local level.
- Monthly Branch Meetings: Four meetings each month, including a main gathering with a speaker and lunch, informal café-style meetings, a group for younger and working-age members (YAPA) both in-person and via Zoom, and a Carers’ Meeting by Zoom.
- Weekly Exercise Therapies: Seven sessions of exercise adapted for all those living with Parkinson’s. These are designed to suit different abilities and needs.
- Taxi Service: For those unable to attend meetings or exercise classes due to transport issues, we offer a Taxi Scheme. Eligible members can attend branch activities free via Panther (now Veezu) Taxis. Grants of up to £1,500 may be available from Parkinson’s UK to help with transport costs.
- Support for Carers: Dedicated meetings and resources for carers, including online sessions.
- Access to Recordings: Past meetings are available to watch on our YouTube channel.
How to Join: Everyone affected by Parkinson’s is welcome. For details of meeting times, locations, and exercise sessions, please see our Diary Dates and Exercise Therapies pages.
