Culture Leicestershire’s ‘At Home’ Offer brings the joy of art, heritage, and reading directly to your doorstep. If you’re unable to visit our Museum and Library sites, we can deliver artwork, handling collections, and library books to you, tailored to your interests and needs.
Our bespoke service is designed to:
- Improve wellbeing
- Help you explore your interests and passions
- Connect you with friendly volunteers
Choose from four flexible strands:
- Art to You: Borrow high-quality contemporary artwork for up to 6 months. Optional activities help you connect with the art, and you can even try creating your own piece in a similar style.
- Activity to You: Enjoy hands-on sessions with museum objects, including arts and crafts, creative writing, and history. All activities are beginner-friendly and guided by our volunteers.
- Reminiscence to You: Experience our multi-sensory Memory Boxes, designed to evoke nostalgia and joy. Themes include childhood, the seaside, and royalty, with items to touch, smell, listen to, and do. These boxes are especially inclusive for people with dementia or learning disabilities.
- Home Library Service: Get library books delivered to your door. Learn more about the Home Library Service.
How it works:
- A team member visits you at home to learn about your interests (family, friends, or support workers are welcome).
- We create a bespoke offer of cultural activities and/or artworks just for you.
- You’re matched with a friendly volunteer who delivers objects, artwork, and activities every 2–4 weeks.
- Items are collected at a convenient time for you.
