Mankind Initiative

ManKind Initiative provides confidential support, information, and signposting for male victims of domestic abuse and domestic violence across the UK. Our free helpline is open to men of all ages and backgrounds, as well as their friends, family, neighbours, colleagues, and employers who are seeking advice or support.

We help men suffering from abuse by a current or former wife, partner (including same-sex partners), or husband. Abuse can include physical violence, object throwing, bullying, insults, and other forms of harm. Our service is available to anyone in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

What we offer:

  • Confidential national helpline (Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm, excluding bank holidays)
  • Information and signposting to local services via our Directory of Services (Oak Book)
  • Support for friends, family, neighbours, colleagues, and employers of male victims
  • Resources for professionals, including training, presentations, and conferences
  • Guidance on spotting the signs of abuse and legal support

We receive calls from men in all professions and age groups, and also support organisations, charities, local authorities, and police forces. Our helpline is funded solely by public donations and does not receive taxpayer funding or grants.

If you or someone you know is a male victim of domestic abuse, please call our confidential helpline for support and guidance.
