Medway Safe Haven

Medway Safe Haven is a 24/7 walk-in mental health crisis service for adults in the Kent area, located at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham. It provides a welcoming, non-clinical space where people can drop in for emotional support and practical help in crisis. Staff include trained mental health professionals who can offer listening, information and one-to-one support, and help you create staying well and crisis plans or connect you with other services. Access is by walk-in with no referral needed, and the service operates around the clock to assist those in emotional distress. It works closely with GPs, Community Mental Health Teams, Crisis Teams, A&E Mental Health Liaison Teams, Police and Ambulance Services, Street Triage, and other front-line healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, supportive place to go. Who is this service for? Anyone aged 18 and over; no formal referral is required. The Haven is not suitable for urgent medical attention.
