Upper Eden Linking Lives is a warm and welcoming befriending service for adults in Upper Eden, Cumbria who would benefit from extra friendship and support. We offer weekly home visits or telephone calls from carefully selected, trained, and vetted volunteers.
Our service is designed to help those who may feel lonely or isolated, especially people who are unable to leave their home often or have limited contact with others in the community. Volunteers are matched with scheme members to provide regular companionship, usually for one hour every one or two weeks. This contact can be a lifeline, offering meaningful social interaction and support.
Referrals are accepted from statutory organisations (such as social workers, social prescribers, GPs, and community health practitioners), charities, friends, family members, or self-referrals. Please ensure the person being referred agrees to the service. Note: We may be unable to arrange visits for those whose health conditions significantly impact their ability to hold a conversation.
