Their monthly meetings (every third Thursday) are held at the Methodist Hall, St. Mary's at 10.30 a.m. and after a chat over coffee, they enjoy a talk by a guest speaker or member. In addition to their monthly meetings, they also run smaller groups for members where they enjoy Creative Writing, Walking, Gardening, Books, Art and Music Appreciation and Keep Fit to help members stay active. They are also keen for members to start up additional interest groups based on their own wants and needs. So, with all that in mind, there is a very good chance that you will find something to interest you, and if not, you could create an additional learning opportunity with your new u3a friends!
Please note that their monthly meetings and interest groups all take place during the day. There is also a £20 membership fee for the year or reduced to £16.40 without the magazine subscription.
For further information please look on the IOS u3a website here at https://u3asites.org.uk/isles-of-scilly/welcome or contact Linda Wornes on 01720 422942 Alternatively just turn up any third Thursday of the month at the Methodist Hall on St Mary’s between 10.30 and 12noon.
