Addicted to Football is a friendly community group in Cambridge supporting adults facing mental health challenges and/or addiction. We offer a welcoming space to unwind, have fun, and connect with others through the shared enjoyment of football.
What to expect:
- Weekly football sessions at Abbey Leisure Complex, Cambridge and Community Stadium, Sawston.
- Open to anyone aged 18+ of any gender or background—including those currently experiencing mental health or addiction issues, those with past challenges, and anyone from the wider community who wants to support the group.
- No previous football experience needed. Sessions start with stretches and warm-ups, followed by exercises, mini games, and fun matches. You can join in as much or as little as you like.
- Each session ends with a check-in circle—a safe space to share how your week has been, or simply listen if you prefer.
- On your first visit, Charlie will meet you in the car park one-to-one, show you the pitch, and introduce you to the group.
