The Blue Badge scheme helps people with disabilities or health conditions park closer to their destination. If you have an enduring and substantial disability, you may be eligible for a Blue Badge, which is a disabled parking permit issued by Cambridgeshire County Council.
Who can apply? You must have a long-term and significant disability or health condition. Applications are open to both new applicants and those renewing an existing badge. If you have a non-visible (hidden) disability, such as severe psychological distress or complex mental health disorders, you will need to provide supporting evidence from a professional involved in your care.
- Cost: There is a £10 charge per application, payable by credit or debit card. If you are not eligible, this will be refunded.
- Processing time: Once your application and all required documents are received, it can take up to four weeks to issue your Blue Badge.
- Delivery: Please allow up to three weeks for delivery after you receive confirmation that your badge has been ordered.
- Renewals: If your badge is expiring and you cannot find your details when selecting 'renew', please submit a new application. Badges are not automatically reissued.
- Fast track: Applications can only be fast-tracked if the applicant is terminally ill.
What you need to apply:
- Proof of your disability or health condition (including the Blue Badge Non-Visible (Hidden) Disabilities Supporting Evidence Form if applying under non-visible criteria).
- Copies of supporting documents (originals cannot be returned).
- Ability to pay the £10 fee.

Contact details: For questions, address changes, or to report a lost, stolen, or damaged badge, contact the Blue Badge Team by email or phone (see below). If you no longer need your badge or the badge holder has passed away, please return the badge to the address provided.
Important: If you do not send the requested documents or complete your application (including booking a mobility assessment if required) within four weeks, your application will be cancelled. If your badge does not arrive within three weeks of the order confirmation email, contact the Blue Badge Team. If you do not notify them within eight weeks, a £10 replacement fee will apply.
