Healthy Parent Carer Programme

Healthy Parent Carers was created by University of Exeter Medical School. Healthy Parent Carers is designed to promote empowerment, resilience and confidence among parent carers. The programme encourages participants to take small steps and set achievable goals to improve their health and wellbeing. It has been rigorously tested for effectiveness and can be delivered in a face-to-face setting or virtually. We would like to offer this to Parent Carers in multiple way to ensure opportunities are available. The expected outcomes for the project are as below:-

1 Improved mental and physical health among participating parent carers.

1        Increased resilience and confidence in managing caregiving responsibilities.

2        Greater awareness and adoption of healthy practices among parent carers.

3        Enhanced social support networks for parent carers.

4        Engage families with MPCF and support them to establish sustainable peer support networks.

Lisa and Maxi are trained to facilitate this programme. The programme is delivered in 3 hour sessions for 6 weeks and can be virtual or online. Once referral to the programme has been received the team will speak to participant to check their preferred method of delivery and discuss the programme in more depth. Refreshments and welcome pack provided.
