Thrive into Work

Thrive into Work offers one-to-one job finding support to people with health challenges.

This offers a unique approach to employment support that empowers people living with health conditions to find suitable and satisfying work. Research suggests that being in regular work has positive effects on your health. If you have a health condition, being in work can:

  • Help improve support networks
    Find ways to manage your health and wellbeing.

The programme can help people regain confidence, independence and sense of purpose. It’s part of our vision for a fairer, greener, healthier West Midlands.

If you want to join the Thrive into Work service, you will get:

  • One-to-one support to suit your needs and employment goals
    Support from your health care team to help you manage any difficulties
    Advice on benefits to find out if being in work could increase your income
    Help with finding a job if you are not in paid employment
    Continued support once you have started in a job
    Help talking to your employer about your needs at work
    Regular and ongoing support online or by phone

 

The Thrive into Work specialist employment support service has launched two new animations to let people know how easy and straightforward it is to refer to the service.

 

One is aimed at health professionals so that they can refer their patients directly to Thrive into Work.

The second one is aimed at the general public so that anyone can self-refer or share the details with someone they know.

Evidence based approach to employability underpinned by Individual Placement Support.

  • Place, Train & Maintain Model
     
    Support people with mental health/underlying physical health conditions into employment. It involves intensive, individual support, and rapid job searching, followed by placement into paid employment.

Service access criteria:

For Back to work Cases:

Must be 16+

Registered with a GP in the Coventry & Warwickshire ICB catchment area.

Must be unemployed 

Have a mental and/or physical health condition or disability (this can be self defined)
 
Must not be on another Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) contracted employment programme or provision including ESF 

Individual must have an entitlement to public funds

For Retention Support Cases:

  • Individuals who have been in their current employment for a minimum of 3 months.
    Individuals who are in work but are on a period of sickness absence.
    Individuals who are in work but are struggling to retain their job due to their health condition.
    Individuals at risk of Redundancy due to their health condition inhibiting their ability to continue their employment.
