The Young Lives Foundation (YLF) offers dedicated mentoring for care leavers in Medway, Kent, and across the South East.
Our mentors help young people build confidence and independence as they transition out of care. We provide practical support with budgeting, job searches, housing, and regular contact to reduce isolation and develop essential life skills.
- Regular visits and ongoing phone contact – mentors are available for in-person support and by call or text.
- Help with practical tasks – including budgeting, maintaining accommodation, and learning to cook and prioritise daily needs.
- Support with employment, training, or education – mentors assist with job searches, applications, and finding opportunities.
- Advocacy – if requested, mentors can advocate for care leavers at meetings or appointments.
Our service is designed to reduce isolation, boost self-esteem, and help care leavers settle into independent living. We are proud to share feedback from young people and carers who have found our mentoring invaluable during their transition.
