First Abide is a Christian-based community outreach and engagement organisation dedicated to supporting people in need across Wolverhampton. Our mission is to raise the standard of living and wellbeing for individuals and families through benevolent projects, empowerment services, and practical support.
We offer a safe space for people to connect, learn, and receive support through a variety of befriending, mental health, and emotional wellbeing activities. Our services include:
- Community events such as the Community Christmas Dinner and Winter Coats Project, providing practical help and social connection.
- Housing the Homeless Project – supporting and volunteering with local charities to help those without stable accommodation.
- Hidden Treasure Project – helping individuals discover their self-worth, purpose, and resilience through coaching, mentoring, counselling, and pastoral care. We offer person-centred and integrative approaches, including spiritual awareness from a biblical perspective.
- Workshops and support groups focused on mental health, emotional health, and spiritual wellbeing, including Kintsugi Wellbeing courses, Parent & Carer Support Groups, and Health & Wellbeing Support Hubs.
- 1-to-1 face-to-face and remote support for counselling, psychotherapy, coaching, mentoring, and pastoral care.
We aim to help people overcome isolation, grief, loss, and mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and stress. Our services also support carers and families, providing opportunities to connect, learn new skills, and benefit from signposting to other helpful resources.
All are welcome to join our events, workshops, and support sessions. We work in partnership with local organisations and charities to reach those most in need.
