POhWER provides free, independent advocacy services for adults in Kensington and Chelsea. Since 2006, our team has supported local residents to have their voices heard, understand their rights, and make informed choices about their care and wellbeing.
Our services include:
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA): Supporting people who lack capacity to make certain decisions, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and Relevant Person’s Paid Representative (RPPR).
- Community Advocacy (including Care Act Advocacy): For residents aged 18+ with a physical or sensory disability, long-term illness, or anyone aged 50+ who needs help to speak up or be listened to.
- Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCAS): Helping people who want to make a complaint about NHS-funded treatment or care.
How to access support:
- Anyone can make a referral using our downloadable forms for each service.
- If you’re unsure about eligibility or need advice, call us on 0300 456 2370 or email us for guidance.
- We welcome calls via Relay UK for people who are deaf, have hearing loss, or speech impairment.
All services are free and confidential. Our advocates are here to help you understand your options, express your wishes, and ensure your rights are respected.
