The Bereavement Journey Group

We all face the loss of a loved one at some point in our lives. It is an unavoidable fact that, no matter who we are, regardless of race, religion, sex, political views, beliefs, geographical location etc, where there is love, there will also be grief.

The Bereavement Journey is a structured, 6 week, face to face group course open to all adults who are grieving the death of a loved one or struggling with the long-term effects of loss. The course is facilitated by the Palliative Care Team from BHRUT (Queens and King George Hospitals) and covers the most common feelings, issues and obstacles we face when grieving. This is a safe, confidential and non-judgmental place for participants to explore their loss and grief.

Topics include: Running soon:
• Attachment, separation
and loss
• The pain and responses of grief
• Anger and guilt
• Coping with others’ reactions
• Delayed and suppressed grief
• Adjusting to change
• Moving forward healthily
• Faith questions – a Christian
perspective (optional)

The next course is starting on 9 September 18:30-20:00.
